A THURNSCOE housing estate has been branded "Benidorm at the weekend" by the people who live there.

Residents from the Hampole Drive estate say they are in a "living hell" because of youths, aged between 12 and 18, running riot with drinking, drug taking and anti-social behaviour.

They say it has been happening for the last seven years on and off but has worsened over the last few months and are calling for footpaths which youths use as a rat run to make their way around the estate to be closed.

The final straw for residents came last week when a woman found a youth excreting in her back garden. When she shouted out to him, he pulled his trousers up and jumped back over her garden fence.

A catalogue of incidents also includes: ripping fence panels out and using them to damage cars; making snowballs with ice and throwing them at car windows in an attempt to smash them; egging windows; drinking; drug taking; shining laser pens through living room windows and throwing pebbles over cars.
