HARASSED residents say they still can't sleep at night despite a court order banning a neighbour from hell from entering his own home.
At a hearing at Rotherham Magistrates Court, Dale Scott, 39, and his mum Carol, were served a three month premises closure order on the property on Knollbeck Crescent.
The court heard that Scott had dumped cars, canisters, furniture, plastics and tyres outside the house and lit fires with smoke so thick 'you could chew on it'.
Over 18 months fire fighters were called to the property eight times, 48 tonnes of waste had been removed and action against Scott had cost the council £14,000.
On one occasion a fire in a car wreck outside his home spread to a neighbour's caravan and then to their house leading to the evacuation of two children and their grandmother.
After the hearing, neighbours, who did not wish to be named, said that the order would give them a rest from Scott's antics but the only way they could sleep at night would be if the house was sold.
One resident said: "We have been told that if Scott breaches the order he could go to prison or be given a fine but that doesn't completely put our minds at rest."
The council is seeking a compulsory purchase order on the property.
