AN OUT-of-control car rolled backwards down a hill, across one of the town’s busiest roads and smashed through a barber’s shop window – and miraculously no-one was hurt.
The back of the grey Peugeot rode up the kerb and ended up in the shop front of Jack’s Barber on Summer Lane on Wednesday afternoon, sending shards of glass flying.
Eyewitnesses say there was no-one in the car at the time but believe the handbrake could have failed. The car rolled down Summer Street, hitting a parked Audi on the way down and careered into the side of a house before rolling down a banking and across Summer Lane.
