MEET Dennis Higgs – America’s newest oil millionaire. Dennis, 80, splits his time between his cattle ranch in the wilds of Cheyenne, Wyoming, where he has just struck oil, and his son’s home and car testing business in Staincross.
The former Monk Bretton scrap yard owner had no idea the 200-acre ranch was rich with black gold when he bought it three years ago.
But his ranch manager called him in Staincross to say a drilling company had struck oil, and Dennis was now the proud owner of a ranch rich with ‘black gold’ worth millions.
His response was modest to say the least.
“I’m not that bothered really, it’s only money to me.
