ABOUT 1,000 jobs will be created in Barnsley by internet fashion company Asos.com.
The company will base its distribution centre in a huge warehouse at a unit off Park Spring Road, between Grimethorpe and Great Houghton, on the site of the old Houghton Main colliery.
It is planning to invest £40m and will employ 360 full-time staff. At busy times like Christmas a spokesman said the workforce would increase to around 1,000.
