A BARNSLEY farm shop missed out on a trophy because it's 'not in Yorkshire' according to competition organisers.
The British Pig Executive held a regional awards roadshow in Harrogate this month which Wortley Farm Shop entered for a second year running.
Owner and butcher, Andrea O'Connell, was delighted to be awarded six gold certificates for her prize pork bangers and pies.
But her glee soon turned to gloom when Bpex said the shop couldn't qualify for an overall prize because it was classed as being in the East Midlands.
Andrea said: "As soon as we got there I was told that anything we submitted would not qualify for trophies but we could get these gold awards.
"I asked why and was so taken aback to be told the reason. Apparently we are 'out of the area' and classed as the East Midlands.
"You can't get any more Yorkshire than us. There's Derbyshire in-between us and the East Midlands.
"We're all about supporting Yorkshire and local produce."
When Andrea spoke to Bpex organisers after the event she was told there had been a mix-up with post codes.
A spokesman for BPEX said it was a typographical error on the entry form and the matter has been rectified.
"It is a mistake on our part," he said. "We go around the country in seven different regions which are defined by post code."
