BUDDING young artists have been creating their own masterpieces on canvas in full view of passers by in the town centre.
The group of 20 aged eight to 16 were taking part in the Pavement Arts’ Project organised by local artist Pete Deakin and funded by Barnsley YMCA.
After working at the Cooper Gallery earlier this week, the youngsters were spending yesterday and today outside the former Littlewoods store.
The project is intended to enhance their artistic talents and develop new skills.
Pete said: “In past years the young people have worked with great imagination and enthusiasm and the quality of the work has been as good as anything I have seen in the London art galleries.”
