A Dodworth couple are planning an epic journey from Barnsley to China and beyond in a 63-year-old classic MG sports car.
Robert and Lynne Douglas plan to drive across Europe and Asia to China, and then on to Laos, Thailand, Cambodia and Malaysia.
Bob said: “Peking to Paris was a well-known route. But it’s called Beijing now. So what could be better than Barnsley to Beijing? The People’s Republic of South Yorkshire to the People’s Republic of China.”
The trip will test the car - and the drivers - to the limit. They’ll drive on on six-lane highways, desert track, mountain passes and through rivers. They’ll experience freezing cold and tropical monsoons.
