THREE lecturers who are walking around Barnsley’s boundary have set an early morning rendezvous.

Steve Burton, Tony Hooper and Bernard McNicholas all lecture at the University Centre Barnsley.

The trio will go around the 70 mile boundary next week to raise cash for the hospice. They will set off at 5am on Wednesday from the car park at Haigh.

They hope to finish, at the university centre on Church Street, at about 3pm the following day after spending the night at Cragrats at Hazlehead, near Penistone.

Supporters have been asked to cheer them on at Cortonwood retail park at noon on Wednesday, Cannon Hall car park on Thursday at 10am, and Bretton sculpture park at 12 noon on Thursday.

People can join the walkers at the Chestnut Tree pub, Barugh Green, at about 1.30pm as they walk back to town to celebrate.
