Friends and family of a 29-year-old teacher who died from complications caused by diabetes will do a walk in her memory.

Milly Tibble, who taught maths at Kingstone School, suffered heart failure and died last September after falling ill with what she thought was flu.

Her boyfriend Robin Donohoe, 38, said the walk, to raise money for Diabetes UK, would be a nice way to remember her.

“I didn’t know anything about diabetes until after I lost Milly as she kept it to herself,” he said. “I think that’s the problem with diabetes. I think a lot of people don’t want to admit they have it or let it hold them back.

“I still wonder if I had known more about it whether I could have done anything to help her.”

Robin’s sister Melissa has organised the 14-mile trek around Sheffield on September 17.

Walkers have been asked to wear purple as it was her favourite colour.
