A CARE service which supports people with learning disabilities has been rated as ‘good’ following its latest Care Quality Commission inspection.

Sun Health Care Domiciliary Care Services, based on Huddersfield Road, is a supported living service providing support to people with a learning disability and autistic people, as well as those living with physical disabilities and or sensory needs.

A report states: “Staff had taken great care to ensure peoples voices and choices were heard and to enable people to build and stay in control of their own lives.

“People were supported to have maximum choice and control of their lives and staff supported them in the least restrictive way possible and in their best interests; the policies and systems in the service supported this practice.

“People received kind and compassionate care.

“People’s needs and preferences were assessed, and care and support was delivered in line with current standards.

“People had comprehensive care plans which detailed their strengths and needs and promoted their dignity and independence.”
