SPECIALISTS are assessing what is needed to repair Barnsley Town Hall’s famed clock - after it stopped ticking last week.
The iconic building, which opened in 1933, is currently being used as a filming location for Channel Four’s forthcoming drama, A Woman of Substance.
However, its clockface has been jammed at 3.27pm - prompting a team of specialists to assess its damage.
A Barnsley Council spokesperson said: “We’re aware that the town hall clock is currently stopped.
“A specialist has visited to assess the issue and we’re now awaiting their report so we can move forward with arranging the necessary repairs.”
