Cawthorne won at Kirkburton in the Heavy Woollen Cup.
Cawthorne were five for three and 35 for five but Matt Carroll made 51 and Archie Greaves whacked 67 off 46 balls with six sixes.
Cawthorne posted 176 then reduced their hosts to nine for five before bowling them out for 79. Syed Hassan took three for one and Carroll claimed four wickets.
Barnsley lost at Birstall.
The hosts made 247 then, after some rain, Barnsley were set 123 to win off 18 overs and fell 28 runs short.
Sean Whitehead took five wickets and Lucas Slatter three.
Hoylandswaine’s game at Moorlands was declared a draw but is being reviewed by the board.
Swaine, who were chasing after rain delays, were thought to have been ahead on the Duckworth Lewis Method but the required 15 overs in each innings to declare a result had not been bowled by the 8.14pm cut-off time.
