Dickie Bird has received his OBE from Prince Charles at Buckingham Palace today.
The retired umpire, 79, told the Chronicle it was an 'enormous honour' and he was 'delighted'.
He and Prince Charles shared a joke as the honour was bestowed. The pair have met three times previously, including in Barnsley in January.
His Royal Highness asked 'how Dickie's statue was going on' and Dickie replied that he hoped it was 'still there'.
