A SECONDARY school has been praised following its latest Ofsted inspection.
Kirk Balk Academy in Hoyland retained its existing ‘good’ rating with inspectors finding the school had high expectations and a ‘relentless drive’ to ensure that pupils succeed.
A team of inspectors spent two days in the academy in June and met with leaders, staff and a substantial number of youngsters.
Principal Hayley Craddock said: “We are proud of this outcome. It reflects the hard work and dedication of our entire school community - pupils, staff and parents alike.
“We are especially delighted that the inspection team noted staff’s ‘deep commitment to improving pupil’s life chances’ as we strive everyday to provide the best possible education for our amazing students, both in the classroom and as part of our extensive wider enrichment offer.”
With plans already underway to build on this success, the school is aiming even higher in the coming years.
Associate senior executive principal, Dean Buckley, added: “I’m absolutely thrilled that Ofsted has once again recognised the many strengths of our fantastic academy.
“Our pupils and staff are exceptional, and they truly deserve this outcome.
“The report highlights some wonderful moments and achievements that everyone in our community should be incredibly proud of.”
