TWO sisters in Penistone are saying farewell to their much-loved clothing shop after clocking up almost 40 years’ service.
Toni Harrison and Zoe Hewitt opened their boutique, Zeanti, in 1986 - and it has been a cornerstone of Penistone ever since.
The pair have decided to call time on the business and retire though, much to the sadness of long-time customers.
They said: “We’ve been thinking about it for a long time now, we have grandkids and we are both in our 60s.
“We also had to do it at some point as we didn’t want to buy clothes for the next season, so decided this was the right time.
“We’ve been amazed by how many people have come with good wishes for us, people whose kids have grown up and come in themselves have come to see us.
“Our regulars have become friends, so we will meet up with them in the future.”
Zeanti has been credited for its warm and welcoming atmosphere, with Zoe and Toni making time for anyone wanting to go in for a shop or a chat.
They’ve also held fashion shows and charity events to support the local community.
The pair added: “With all the friends coming in, we’re realising we’re a friendship more than a shop for some people.
“We’ve built up some really lovely relationships with people who always come to us.
“We won’t be putting our feet up just yet, we’ve got some work to do with the shop, but after that we’re looking forward to chilling out and taking a few holidays.”
