LINDA Proctor’s decision to do a collection to buy toys for the local children’s ward back in 2022 has led to her becoming a dedicated and tireless supporter of the hospital’s charity.

Linda has gone on to raise over £8,000 through raffles, community events and unwavering commitment in her local club Carlton Smithies.

She has been nominated in the Proud of Barnsley Volunteer of the Year category.

The nomination says: “With a constant smile on her face and a warm, generous spirit, Linda brings people together to support causes that matter.

“Whether selling raffle tickets, organising local events, or simply spreading the word, her enthusiasm is infectious and her impact undeniable.

“What makes Linda truly remarkable is that she continues to give so much of herself to others despite facing her own personal health battles. Her resilience, positivity, and selflessness shine through everything she does.

“Linda is more than a fundraiser - she is a pillar of her community and a true Volunteer of the Year.

“Linda’s community spirit is an inspiration. She doesn’t just raise funds - she raises awareness, builds connections, and strengthens the bond between the hospital and the local community. Her efforts have supported multiple appeals and made a tangible difference to patients and their families.
