NOMINATIONS are now closed for the Proud of Barnsley awards 2025 and what a year it’s been!
We have had a record number of nominations with so many heart-warming stories of amazing Barnsley unsung heroes.
We will carry as many of them as we can in the paper and online but, rest assured, even if your nomination isn’t featured they will all be sent onto our judging panel which will choose the finalists.
Chronicle editor Andrew Harrod said: “We have been blown away by the number and calibre of the nominations. It’s going to be no easy feat for the judging panel to decide on the finalists.
“We appreciate every single person who has taken the time to send in a nomination and shine a light on all these amazing individuals and groups.”
We’ll be announcing the shortlist in the next few weeks and after that, we’ll start filming all the video stories of our finalists which will be shown on the big screens at the Metrodome on the presentation night.
Like last year, Chronicle readers will be able to play a part in helping choose the winners thanks to an online public vote. The results of that will be merged with the views of our judging panel to reveal our eventual winners.
The awards evening will take place at the Metrodome on Friday November 14 when we’re looking forward to meeting all our finalists and their families and friends.
