BARNSLEY captain Luca Connell admitted his frustration following Barnsley 1-0 loss at home to Rotherham United on Saturday.

The 24-year-old played the full 90 minutes in the Reds' first league loss at Oakwell to the Millers in 56 years.

He said that despite starting well, they were always facing an uphill battle when playing like they did in the second half.

He said: "It was frustrating of course.

"I think we dominated the first half and that the story of football - you've got to score when you're on top.

"In the second half we didn't create as much.

"I think that's when you've got to stick together as a team and come out of there with a 0-0 draw."

Kian Spence's 64th minute strike was the winner for Rotherham.

His 20-yard strike sailed past Murphy Cooper in the Barnsley goal and extended the Reds' winless run in the league to five matches.

Connell added: "Fair play to the lad it was a good strike.

"Somewhere those are the fine moments in games.

"We've had some this year where one of those goals won us the game or got us back into it."
