BARNSLEY will visit Port Vale in the first knock-out round of the EFL Cup.

The game is due to take place in midweek on the week commencing December 1.

The Reds made it through their group despite losing two of the three games, finishing second on goal difference.

Vale are currently in the League One relegation zone but won at Oakwell in September.

They are managed by former Reds defender Darren Moore whose assistant is Barnsley stalwart Martin Devaney.

The match will be between Barnsley’s league trip to Stockport County and another away game at Peterborough United in the FA Cup.
