BARNSLEY-based Mexican Erick Omar Lopez brought a title back to the town over the weekend.
Lopez is one of four Mexicans based at Josh Wale’s Brampton gym.
Though the quartet mainly take fights on the road against rising prospects – a peculiar opportunity arose for Lopez to fight for the Belgian super-bantamweight title on Sunday.
Lopez, cornerned by Wale, rose to the occasion in Dudzele and stopped the previously unbeaten prospect Alik Aloyan in the fourth round with a body shot.
