A HISTORIC bowling club’s open day saw an MP stop off to meet its members.

Stephanie Peacock, who represents Barnsley South, recently attended Darfield Park Bowling Club.

The club has been active in Darfield for over 100 years, and has members ranging from ages eight to 83.

The MP is a patron of the bowls club and met with organisers and members to hear about what the club means to them.

Stephanie said: “It was lovely to pop into the club recently alongside local councillor, Kevin Osborne.

“The club has been an important part of our community for over 100 years and it is an honour to be a patron.

“Thank you to everyone who took the time to speak to me and tell me about what the club means to them.”
