Barnsley’s Patrick Kelly was an unused substitute for Northern Ireland’s World Cup play-off in Italy on Thursday night while Reds loanee Xu Bin made his full debut for China on Friday morning.
Northern Ireland were beaten 2-0 in Bergamo, ending their chances of reaching the summer tournament in USA, Canada and Mexico.
Xu started China’s 2-0 friendly win over Curacao in Melbourne, Australia. He is on loan to Barnsley from Wolverhampton Wanderers and has been playing for the under 21s.
Jono Bland could play for Wales under 21s tonight while Owen Goodman is with the Canada squad.
