Barnsley lost 1-0 to Hull City after failing to have a shot on target against their Yorkshire rivals.
Sone Aluko's strike on 16 minutes gave the home side the lead. John Stones failed to deal with a Hull corner and headed the ball into Aluko's path and the striker's left-footed effort deflected off Scott Wiseman and sailed past Luke Steele.
The Tigers could have gone further in front as Corry Evans, James Chester and Jay Simpson but all were denied by the impressive Steele, who was making his first start of the season.
Barnsley failed to have a shot in the first half. And whilst their performance improved during the second half, they failed to work goalkeeper Ben Amos. Their best chance came when Tomasz Cywka's strike sailed wide.
