Members of Ward Green WMC are having to raise money to buy their clubhouse after about £30,000 went missing.
It's four years since the club won a legal battle to buy the building from Sam Smith's brewery, and now Smiths has given members 12 months' notice to quit.
The committee was left with heavy debts amid the £35,000 cost of the court case and members then discovered money had gone missing.
At an emergency meeting, called by secretary Steven Szocs, ways of raising the money needed to buy the club were discussed, despite members not knowing how much it will cost.
The clubhouse is now being valued.
Stephen said he updated members on meetings he'd had with banks and breweries, adding: "Members have been very positive. They were angry at the fact that we were given notice but I felt there was a gladness. It's a bit better because we have got no alternative now - we've got to buy it.
"We've been forced in to a corner but it's a good thing. This is it - let's get on with it. We don't like the beer so let's get some decent beer in."
