BARNSLEY Football Club’s charitable arm is is calling on local businesses to come together and support their community this World Cup through a new initiative.

‘Turn Your Sweepstake into Support’ invites organisations across Barnsley to turn their workplace World Cup sweepstakes into a meaningful fundraising opportunity, helping to sustain and grow the trust’s vital work across the borough.

Funds raised through each sweepstake can be split 50/50 between prizes and a donation to Barnsley FC Community Trust, making it simple for businesses to reward staff while giving back.

The first business to sign up was The Naylor Group.

Chief executive Edward Naylor said: “We thought this was a great way to take our usual workplace sweepstake up a level while supporting Barnsley FC Community Trust.

“As a trustee of the trust, I see first-hand the impact Kieron and the team have on people’s lives in Barnsley and this is a great way for us to help raise funds and awareness.”

CEO of the trust, Kieron Campbell, added: “Football has an incredible way of bringing people together, and the World Cup is a perfect example of that.

“This fundraising opportunity is about harnessing that excitement and turning it into something truly positive for our community.
