Goalkeeper Owen Goodman has been selected in Canada's provisional squad for their home World Cup after spending several months on loan to Barnsley.
The 22-year-old played 22 times for the Reds on loan from Crystal Palace after joining in the January transfer window.
Goodman, who declared for Canada last year having spent much of his childhood there, had previously represented England at youth level.
He is one of three goalkeepers named by Jesse Marsch for the tournament held in Canada, USA and Mexico which starts on June 10. The 32-man squad will be trimmed before the tournament but the goalkeepers are likely to remain the same.
Other ex-Reds set to go to the World Cup include John Stones and Ivan Toney with England plus Chris Wood for New Zealand.
