Barnsley look set to sell Adam Phillips to Yorkshire neighbours and League One rivals Bradford City.

The midfielder, 28, has scored 43 goals in 182 games since joining in 2022 – becoming the first player to reach double figures in four straight seasons since Neil Redfearn in the 1990s.

He has one year remaining on his current contract after the Reds took the option this summer to increase it by a further season.

The move to Bradford – who reached the play-offs last month – is thought to be in advanced stages, but not completed, while the fee is unknown.

Barnsley’s players are due to return for pre-season on Wednesday of next week with returning head coach Daniel Stendel due to start this week.
