We take a closer look at Barnsley's new right-back Tyrese Noslin who signed on a three-year deal after the Reds paid an undisclosed fee.

Born in Amsterdam, he came through the youth system at Almere City before joining Telstar in 2024 and helping them to promotion to the top flight last year.

He played every game in the Eredivisie, starting 26 of 34, scoring twice.

He has eight caps for Curacao and came on as a substitute in their World Cup game with Ivory Coast last month. He had scored a winner for them in a qualifier against Bermuda.

Noslin worked under former Barnsley player Dean Gorre who was assistant coach of the Curacao team.

It is the first time the Reds have signed a player from Telstar since fans’ favourite Arjan de Zeeuw arrived in 1995 and helped them reach the Premier League.

Kees van Dalsem, who covers Telstar for the IJmuiden Courant, said: “Tyrese is a classic wing-back who likes to push forward on the right.

“A sort of Denzel Dumfries but naturally not quite as good yet.

“Telstar played with five defenders in recent seasons and Tyrese often played on the right side.

“As a result, he was also heavily involved in the attack.

“A classic Telstar goal is therefore when Noslin crosses to the left wing-back and he scores, or vice versa.

“Partly due to Noslin’s good play, Telstar was promoted to the Eredivisie, and they also played excellently at the highest level last season.

“Last season, he faced competition from another wing-back, Gerald Alders on loan from Ajax.

“As a result, Noslin didn’t play every game anymore, but it speaks volumes about him that he still had a good bond with Alders.

“Alders has been loaned out by Ajax to Telstar again, so there was a good chance that Noslin would be allowed to leave Telstar for a handsome sum.”
