TWO people caught for allegedly not cleaning up after their dogs will be appearing in court.
They were both spotted by council staff on Rotherham Road playing fields at Monk Bretton.
One is a repeat offender and the other was aggressive when asked for his details. Action is being taken against a total of 18 people in a crack down across the borough and the other 16 were handed a fixed penalty of £50.
They were spotted in Goldthorpe, Athersley, Bolton on Dearne, Hoyland, Darton, Great Houghton, Kendray, Royston and Thurnscoe.
Coun Roy Miller. cabinet spokesperson for environmental services, said: “The council is determined to catch the minority who continue to spoil our environment.
“I would hope the people whose names we did take have been hit sufficiently in the pocket to make them realise the error of their ways. If they haven’t learnt their lesson maybe they will when we catch them the next time we undertake an operation like this.”
