Barnsley winger Toni Silva has joined League Two side Dagenham and Redbridge until April 23.

The 19-year-old signed for the Reds from Liverpool last summer on a two-year-deal and said he wanted to replicate last season's star Ricardo Vaz Te who was also born in Guinea-Bissau but grew up in Portugal.

Then manager Keith Hill said he would treat Silva like his own son and make him into a £3million player. But the attacker has made just one appearance for Barnsley, as a substitute in the 1-0 loss at Hull City in November.

Daggers manager Wayne Burnett told their website: "The player was signed from Liverpool with a lot of promise. Unfortunately he has slightly lost his way but hopefully we can get him back to his best."
