Keen swimmer Hayden Dodd has made quite a splash with the lengths of his fundraising efforts.
Hayden, seven, dug deep and swam 2.5km - 100 lengths of Royston leisure centre last month in aid of Marie Curie Cancer Care, raising more than £300.
Proud dad Michael, 51, said his son, a pupil at Holy Rood Primary School, had only planned on swimming 1.5km but battled through to reach the target.
"It was hard work and I was tired at the end," Hayden of Eastmoor Grove, Carlton said.
Michael added: "I couldn't do 100 lengths, I can do a mile but not that far. I was amazed by his stamina and his will to carry on."
