Barnsley's very own Frumptarn Guggenband is celebrating its tenth anniversary and will star in the mayor's parade this weekend.
The wacky band plays all kinds of pop, dance and rock with a mix of brass and drums. It will have about 40 people playing and dancing in the event.
For the past three years, the band has been performing in its well-known black and white cow costumes but tomorrow, it will launch its latest theme at 10.30am at the Experience Barnsley museum.
Musical director Keith Ramskill said: "The new theme is top secret. We're cows at the moment but every three years we change the outfit.
"When we started in 2003 we were miners and wore miners' boiler suits and hard hats. Then we went for a Beefeater theme and most recently for just the beef - that's the cows."
The band learns its whole repertoire by heart so doesn't need sheet music at performances.
It has covered songs by hardcore bands like Pendulum - one of its versions on YouTube had 25,000 hits.
The band will be joined at the mayor's parade by Gmender Gassafetza, a brass band from Barnsley's twin town Schwabish Gmund in Germany.
The name 'Frumptarn' was invented by band members who thought it would be fun.
"It makes us smile when we're introduced abroad as 'Frumptarn," said Keith, who added: "We are good ambassadors for 'tarn' though."
