Reds boss David Flitcroft has denied reports that Jacob Mellis will follow Jim McNulty out of Oakwell on loan.
Midfielder Mellis has been linked with a loan move to Blackpool in national newspapers but Flitcroft insists there has been no contact between the clubs and that the 22-year-old, who started on Tuesday against Reading, is still in his plans.
Flitcroft said: "I have not spoken to Paul Ince (Blackpool manager). He is very good friends with Micky Mellon from when they did their pro licence so if Paul wanted Jacob, he would have contacted us. "It is agents causing mischief. I want Jacob Mellis here."
Mellis has struggled for form this season and the manager has warned him he need to be more consistent. Flitcroft said: "Mells is just finding his form but he was much better against Reading and I want him to be a eight or nine out of ten in every game."
McNulty has joined League One side Tranmere Rovers on loan for a month. The 28-year-old signed a new Reds deal in the summer but has made just one appearance, in the 5-1 home loss to Southampton.
Flitcroft said: "Nults wants to play football on a Saturday to get him in a rhythm. I don't feel he's ready to do that with us at the moment so we were waiting for the right opportunity on loan and we got that with Tranmere. It is a good bit of business all round. He is still part of my plans and it is like what we did with Rob Edwards at the end of last season. Jim has gone out to get games and he could come back in for us."
