A FREE Wi-Fi network in the town has been turned off - but the council says it hopes to offer the service again when the market is redeveloped.

Coun Roy Miller said the free outdoor Wi-Fi service had been offered for two years as a trial while the council's partner in the venture, AWTG, tested and developed new technology.

"This concluded in August and we are now looking at how outdoor Wi-Fi will be provided as part of the exciting high speed broadband plans and the town centre regeneration projects," he said.

"We'll keep people updated on this."
