THE massive bird of prey which went missing from the Milton Arms last week has been found safe and well.
The Harris hawk - which has a five foot wingspan, stands almost half a metre tall and is considered a potential danger to cats and small dogs - was found on a garage on Elsecar Road, near Brampton.
Owner Phil Hickling said: “There'd been a few sightings of big birds - one in Sheffield - but each time I went to them it wasn't mine. I’d almost given up hope but now I'm as happy as a pig in muck. It was reluctant to come to my glove but it soon flew into the trap once we set it up.”
