A CANCER patient who received a specialist type of radiotherapy is worried for her future after the service was stopped in Sheffield.
Jean Egan, 60, was diagnosed with lung cancer in August.
She has received three lots of stereotactic ablative radiotherapy (SABR) at Weston Park which doctors hope will kill the tumour.
But the treatment is being stopped at Weston Park, where it was only being offered temporarily, meaning patients will have to travel to Leeds.
This has left Jean worried about an increase in demand and long waiting lists.
She said: "If it is scrapped and I do have to have more treatment, I could be way at the back of the queue. There will be a demand and people will have to wait longer for treatment.
"I'm just praying after the third time, it has killed my tumour."
Jean will now have regular check ups but must wait until January for the results, and may have to travel to Leeds if more treatment is needed.
