George Waring has signed for Barnsley on loan from Stoke City until the end of the season.
The 20-year-old striker has scored once in four games for the Reds since arriving for an initial month.
The former Everton youngster scored on his competitive debut in the 2-0 win over Yeovil last month.
Barnsley are also interested in extending the deal of fellow youngsters Alex Kiwomya and Ben Pearson before today's 11pm transfer deadline.
