A HERO dog has saved the life of another after being called in to help save its life by donating blood.
Paddy has been registered as a potential doggie blood donor at the Vets4Pets practice in Barnsley for more than a year.
But it was only recently that Paddy's owner Debra Leigh got the emergency telephone call at 11pm one evening saying he was needed to donate the much needed blood to save a critically ill dog called Snowy.
That other dog owner Lorna McHenry, 43, from Northcroft, Shafton, said: "I didn't even know dogs could be blood donors until the vet told me that was the only way to save Snowy's life."
