TWO Dearne campaigners can claim success after the Government granted extra funding to children’s hospices.
Jeff Ennis, MP for Barnsley East and Mexborough, has led the fight through Parliament for three years since being alerted to the plight by leading Bluebell Wood supporter Peter Finnegan, 60, of Bolton-upon-Dearne.
This week the Department of Health announced an additional £9 million a year for the next three years as a direct result of a recent delegation he led to a meeting with Tony Blair.
