A SHORTAGE of adult leaders has meant there are about 100 girls in Barnsley unable to join the rainbows, brownies or guides.
Pat Padgett and Pat Poulton have just been appointed joint divisional commissioners for the Barnsley Central Guides and are appealing for more volunteers to help run groups.
Pat Padgett said: "People do not need to know how to make a campfire or put up a tent, in fact we do do much more than that.
"We need leaders of all ages and from all backgrounds and people can get involved as little or as much as they like -even a couple of hours a week would be useful."
