AN appeal to restore the organ at St Peter's church in Hoyland has taken its first steps.
The church held a cake sale to kick off the fund-raising and now plans a car treasure hunt on June 5. Treasure hunters will find clues on the evening - it starts at 6pm at the church - and then drive off in search of riches distributed around the area.
Revd Richard Parker said the organ appeal needed about £20,000 to fund work on the organ pipes and internal mechanism.
The organ dates back to the late 1800s and some of its keys are sticking or not working.
