PROBLEMS with people taking legal highs near the town centre start at early as 8am.
Residents in the Sheffield Road area, where Smokey Sam's shop operates, met with local MP Dan Jarvis and Police and Crime Commissioner Dr Alan Billings about the issue.
Some said they needed to call ambulances for those apparently suffering adverse effects after taking legal highs. And they said the problems started from 8am.
A further meeting will be held in future to update the community on steps taken to address the situation.
