A HORIZON Community College pupil scored an incredible work experience placement in the soccer department of a university in New York.
Matt Pickles has just returned from Hofstra University, Long Island, where he spent a week with the head of soccer and helped arrange tournaments as well as playing in various sports with the students and shadowing the work of tutors.
"It was an amazing experience for him," said mum Becky Pickles, 43, of Ridgewalk Way, Ward Green, who helped him organise the placement.
