A FED-UP businessman has hit out at an unlawful traveller encampment for leaving behind human excrement and dirty nappies.

David Chambers, who owns several units on Construction Way, Carlton Industrial Estate, claims travellers are persistently getting away with pitching up on a grass verge on neighbouring Barkston Road.

The area, described as a 'hotspot' by the disgruntled 46-year-old, recently had several families on the plot for two weeks until they eventually left on Sunday night.

He said: "I have invested a lot of money in the units I own and I need the rental income to justify that, but I'm having a struggle keeping tenants here because of what's going on. One was even refused entry as the travellers had blocked off the road and were staging a bare knuckle fight."
