AN ACTOR from Hoyland has had to end his run in the West End after being mugged.
Geoffrey Howse, 60, originally from Manor Way, is now on crutches and his understudy has had to take over his part on the West End stage.
Geoffrey was performing as the maitre d’ in Puccini’s La Boheme when he was attacked as he took money from a cashpoint in London.
The two muggers were trying to steal Geoffrey’s bank card, he said they were scared off when he fought back.
