HEALTHWATCH Barnsley has pledged to look into patients’ experiences in accessing GPs and mental health services.
The watchdog, which aims to improve health and social care for Barnsley people, made the vow in the Adult Social Care Local Account - a performance review of adult social care services and their future priorities.
The document shows how Barnsley Council works with organisations including the NHS to improve the quality of life for people with care and support needs by helping to delay or reduce the need for care, and by safeguarding vulnerable adults.
A report to the council’s ruling cabinet outlined the 2015/16 objectives and states the decision was made following feedback over the last year. It will also look into how GP surgeries differ.
