THE owner of a heavily criticised bus firm has urged residents in Cudworth and Shafton to give it another chance after a year of missed services.

Scott Woolley, who has recently taken over Tates Travel, told the Chronicle that the Barugh Green-based operator has opted to reduce its South Yorkshire-wide services from 39 to 22 buses in an attempt to improve punctuality.

He said: “I acknowledge that 2015 has not been the best and we apologise for any inconvenience that our failures in operation has caused.

“Since September 18 we have been achieving full service with the exception of the odd mechanical failure, which within the industry is unavoidable.”
