Conor Hourihane hopes he is repaying Lee Johnson's faith by captaining Barnsley to back-to-back home wins.
The Irish midfielder, 24, felt the display against Millwall was the better of the two and proved they can power up the table.
Hourihane said: "Obviously the first half of the season has been tough for everyone involved.
"We've done a lot of hard work on the training pitch over the last five or six weeks to put it right and I feel like bar the Wigan game, the last five or six games have been quite good and it seems like we're getting over the line now and getting that little bit of luck. We got it with clearances off the line.
"Hopefully we've turned a bit fo a corner and there is definitely confidence flowing through the squad now after two good wins."
Hourihane says he is grateful towards Lee Johnson for putting his trust in him.
He added: “He’s put a bit of faith in me and I’d like to think I’ve been re-paying him. I’m enjoying it and hopefully it will continue going on forwards."
