A BARNSLEY priest took on a holy role in the gripping crime drama Happy Valley.
Fr Paul Cartwright was originally asked to advise the production team behind the hit BBC series on how to conduct a funeral but ended up being asked to audition - playing the vicar in Tuesday night’s episode.
A former police officer, Fr Paul is parish priest at St Peter’s church, Doncaster Road. He said he was gobsmacked to be asked to be in the show.
